I’ve been selling both online and offline since the late 1990′s, so this ain’t my first time around the track. In other words, I’m not one of those “social media consultants” who doesn’t have any real world, concrete business experience. I know how to market effectively and generate sales online. No doubt. But I have also successfully navigated the unique pressures and demands of running a “real world” business…something most web consultants just haven’t done. No thanks.’” Both true stories, off the top of my head. Not everyone calls me “Dude”, but you get the point :-)

Who shouldn’t order consulting
This is really important. I offer a HUGE amount of value to consulting clients. As a result, I need to make sure the people I work with are a good fit. If it’s not a good fit, then it’s not a win-win, and I’m only interested in a win-win. In other words, before you hire me I want to make sure we can work well together. Sound fair? So here are a couple things that don’t fit well with what I do (just being honest):
Get rich quickers – There are a lot of marketers out there who promise to show you how to make a six figure monthly income online…on auto pilot…without working…while sipping umbrella drinks on the beach. I’m not one of those marketers. Seriously, life doesn’t work that way. Most of you know this already, but some of you haven’t yet accepted that success is something you build, not something you buy in a box. Can I show you the most direct route possible to reaching your marketing goals? Yes. Can I teach you how to make millions overnight without work? No.
Couch potatoes – Success in business comes to people who put things into action. If you are not going to put the concepts we talk about to work in your business, consulting is obviously not a good fit for you. You’ll be talking to your friends later on about how you did consulting with me and then nothing happened. That’s not a good deal for you, me or anyone. When you hire me, expect homework! Granted, it will be awesome homework that will take your business to the next level, but it will be homework that needs to be done. No shortcuts. Just real-world business strategies that are proven to work. If you’re not willing to try something new, put in some real work and stick with your new business strategies over time, there’s not much point in paying me to give them to you :-)
